The best time to do the Dudhsagar waterfall trek is during the monsoon season when the rainfall is at its peak and the water flow is at its strongest. 

The trek to Dudhsagar Falls is a challenging one, but it is well worth it for the breathtaking views and the opportunity to experience one of India’s natural wonders up close.

The elegant waterfall which was shown in the Chennai express movie is the Dudhsagar waterfalls. So people also call it the Chennai express waterfall.

Dudhsagar waterfall trek is a 14 km long hike which will take around 6-7 hours long. The hike will be completely surrounded by lush green with dense forest. Clear water, calm breeze and quite surrounding are something that makes the Dudhsagar waterfall astonishing. Dudhsagar water pool is an another iconic attraction. it is a natural pool formed by the rocks at the base. Overall Dudhsagar waterfall trek will be memorable one for you.

The interesting fact is that the waterfall shown in the movie “Chennai Express” is actual Dudhsagar waterfall, from on it is also called as Chennai Express Waterfall. 

Trek Itinerary

DAY 01 | Mumbai - Pune - Kulem

(Pickup from Mumbai: Dadar TT circle, Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar, Kalamboli Mc D)
(Pickup from Pune: Pune railway station )

Day 1 

  • 10:00 Am: Report at Dadar TT circle and we take a cab to Pune , other pickup points are mentioned above.
  • 03:00 Pm: Reach at Pune station and spend time till our next train to Kulem which is at 4:30 PM
  • 03:30 Pm: Reporting for people from Pune
  • 04:00 Pm: We board our train to Kulem.

Train journey is filled with games and entertainment activities.

Overnight train journey to Kulem.

DAY 02 | Trek to Dudhsagar Falls

  • 05:00 Am: Reach Kulem station and we head to villagers house to freshen up. Fill in the tummy with morning breakfast.
  • 05:30 Am: After a short introduction round, start our trek to Dudhsagar.
  • 09:00 Am: Reach the waterfall, spend sometime & click pictures.
  • 10:30 Am: Start your trek back to Kulem.
  • 02:30 Pm: On reaching the villagers house, freshen up and fill in your tummy with the local food.
  • 03:30 Pm: Head to Madgaon for train to Pune/CSMT/LTT (depending on the availability of train).
  • 05:00 Pm: We board our train to Mumbai. Overnight train journey.

DAY 03 | Mumbai

  • 06:30 Am: Reach Pune/CSMT/LLT Station (depends on the train tickets).

Pune pick up points is Pune railway station. People who are travelling from mumbai report at dadar TT circle and get a cab to Pune Railway station by 10 am. Reach Pune by 3 pm and spend some time in railway station till our next train to Kulem (train time is 4.30 pm). 

 

Noe people who are from Pune reach the railway station directly and get the train to Kulem by 4 pm. It is going to be a overnight travel in train to Kulem which we guarantee to make memorable and fun filled. We are expected to reach the Kulem railway station by Day 2 morning 5 am. All participants will have a brief introduction about the details and events by your trek guide. 

By 5.30 we will start our trek towards Dudhsagar waterfall and by 6.30 am we will have our breakfast. The trek will resume by 7 am and expected to reach the waterfall by 10 am. It is going to be a 5 -6 hour long beautiful journey towards the waterfall. Dudhsagar has many memorable views and water streams to show you. by 10.30 am we will start our trek back to Kulem. By 2.30 we will reach Kulem and have our lunch and. By 3.30 pm we will move to Madgao to get our train to Pune. We again have a overnight train journey with your new friends (we are sure about that). On day 3 morning 4.30 we are expecting to reach the station Pune/CSMT/LLT Station depends on the train we have got and say good bye to all
