FAQ

  • How difficult is the Buran Ghati Trek?

The Buran Ghati Trek is rated as Moderate to Difficult. While the initial days are relatively easy, the pass-crossing day is physically demanding due to a steep ascent to 15,000 ft and a technical 70-degree snow wall descent that often requires rappelling.

  • What is the maximum altitude of the Buran Ghati Trek?

The highest point of the trek is the Buran Ghati Pass, which stands at an altitude of approximately 15,000 feet (4,572 meters).

  • When is the best time to visit Buran Ghati?

The best time is either from mid-May to June (for snow lovers and snow wall sliding) or September to October (for clear views, stable weather, and lush green meadows).

  • Is Buran Ghati suitable for beginners?

While fit beginners with high stamina can attempt it, it is highly recommended for trekkers who have at least one prior Himalayan experience (like Kedarkantha or Hampta Pass) due to the technical nature of the pass crossing.
